WINCHESTER ARMS COLLECTORS

Check out our website at winchestercollector.org and join our great organization.

SIOUX FALLS February, 2020

Once again we made our annual trip to the Dakota Territory Gun Collectors Assoc. Sioux Falls Trophy Show.  This year when we unloaded it was 15 degrees which was 20 degrees warmer than last year's set up day.  Warm!!  We took our very much revised 'Winchester' Lever Actions in the Service' display.  It is unique and we received many complements.  The display award categories were improved from previous years by using categories decided by the judges plus an overall winner.  All the category cash awards were the same with slightly more for the overall winner.  We won 'Best Historical Display' which fit our display perfectly.   As usual we visited with many friends that we see only a few times each year.  We had a great time!!

ALLENTOWN, PA, October , 2019

We attended the Forks of the Delaware Historical Arms Society show in Allentown, PA in October , 2019.  We were there in 2018 and enjoyed it so much we decide to  go back. The Organization made us feel welcome and the fellow collectors were fun to be around.  We took our Lee Navy display which was well received and earned a 1st Place award second to 'Best of Show'.   Not sure if we can make it again this year as the trip home is quite long (14 hours) but it won't be for lack want!

OGCA May 2019

After an absence of several  years we again did a display at the Ohio Gun Collectors May, 2019  display show.  We chose our new and improved Winchester Hotchkiss display.  As usual the show was well organized and a very friendly place for a gun collector to show his favorites. The Saturday evening banquet was very good and well attended.  We won the Best Antique Display.  Enjoy the photos.

DAKOTA TERRITORY SHOW 2-2019

We did this display, out latest and best Winchester Hotchkiss presentation, at the Dakota Territories annual display show in Sioux Falls, SD.  DTGCA did not judge, as the NRA was there with $11000 in award money. We won our category. The weather out did itself with cold temps and blowing wind.  It was -12 early set up morning.  Weather aside it was a great show.  Very clean and well run with excellence attendance.  That along with visiting with great friends made for an enjoyable weekend.

At the NRA's Convention in Louisville, KY May 20-21-22, 2016  we represented the Winchester Arms Collectors Assoc. with our display.  The display was titled 'EXAMPLES OF THE WINCHESTER  "HOTCHKISS", PROTOTYPES TO SPORTING MODELS, 1876 TO 1915'.  At this convention the NRA provides a special section for displays put on primarily by Collector's organizations.  Setup starts on Thursday morning until later that evening.   Displays are judged for prestigious awards which are presented on Sunday morning.  Judging starts on Friday morning at 7:30 (the public arrives at 9:00) and continues throughout the day. In the Club's name we proudly won "BEST EDUCATIONAL EXHIBIT, ANTIQUE ARMS".  The show ended at 5:00 PM Sunday.  The show was attended by over 80,000 people and as you can imagine it is a very busy time for those displaying in our area and throughout the show.  Included here are some photos for your enjoyment.

Dakota Gun Collectors February 13 & 14, 2016

As usual the weather was very cold but doable.  We took our Lee Straight Pull display and had a great time talking to the public. Our display was rewarded by a tie for third place.  The 800 table show was well organized and very well attended. The Winchester Arms Collectors had a special invitation and we were represented by our President, 1st VP and 2nd VP and
about 60 members using 100 tables.
We will be back next year.
